Where It All Began
Calm-prairie started in a small garage workshop in British Columbia. Our founder, a third-generation woodworker, noticed that clients kept asking for the same thing: storage that actually fit their spaces and lives.
Mass-produced furniture left gaps. It forced homeowners to adapt their habits to their furniture rather than the other way around. There had to be a better approach.
From that simple observation grew a company dedicated to understanding how people actually live and creating storage solutions that support their daily routines rather than complicate them.

Our Workshop Today
What began as a one-person operation has grown into a team of fifteen craftspeople. Our expanded workshop near Vancouver houses both traditional hand tools and modern precision equipment.
We believe that the best results come from combining time-tested techniques with contemporary technology. Computer-aided design helps us visualize solutions and ensure perfect fits, while hand-finished surfaces carry the warmth that only human touch can provide.
